Thank You to Our Invaluable Volunteers!

We want to thank our volunteers. Without them we could not exist. Their spirit of sharing and giving to our group is priceless. We appreciate and recognize their hard work and dedication! Thanks for your continues support, prayers, and time that you have put into this ministry.

Thank you, to the members of our community for your generous donations!

Special Shout Out to our
Featured Volunteers

Louis Thompson, or 'Lou' will be 80 years old this year.

Our feature volunteer has been with the food pantry and soup kitchen for over 1 1/2 years. He has been married to wife Sandi for 12 years. Between the two of them they have 11 children, 22 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

If Lou is not working for the pantry or kitchen he is fishing, playing with his 5 dogs, or if a neighbor needs somewhere to go or to have their child put on the bus or to be taken shopping, Lou is there to help. No matter what needs done, nothing comes between Lou and the food pantry and soup kitchen. He will work just as hard as the youngest person in the pantry.

Lou is retired from Valley Transportation in Ashland in 1996 and long distance truck driving for 47 years.

John Venoy is our food pantry cook.

John graduated from Barberton High School and went to the navy in 1973 where he was a cook and baker. He trained in San Diego, California for food service.

John has been cooking since he was able to reach a stove. His parents felt it was an important skill to cook. He has been with the food pantry for 7 years and is following the example set by his mother who volunteered at Barberton Hospital for 10 years.

John says, "Cooking I do for pleasure. I tried it professionaly but not as much pleasure as at the family dinner, seeing all the happy faces after a meal."

Thank you, to both of you, for your invaluable service to our organization!

We want everyone to know how much we appreciate those who donate their time and energy!
